IAEA Assists Morocco in Aligning Legislation with the Convention on Supplementary Compensation for Nuclear Damage

Required fields A virtual seminar on civil liability for nuclear damage was held 14-15 December 2020 for officials and stakeholders from Morocco with the goal of supporting the country to align its national legislation with the Convention on Supplementary Compensation for Nuclear Damage (CSC), which entered into force on 15 April 2015. Organized at the request of the Government, the seminar provided an opportunity to discuss the IAEA s comments on the revisions proposed to the 2005 Civil Liability for Nuclear Damage Law (No. 12-0202). The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss Decree No 2-05-1560 of 21 April 2006, which implements the Law.

Damir Trut, Assistant Minister of the Interior of the Republic of Croatia, and Dazhu Yang, IAEA Deputy Director General and Head of the Department of Technical Cooperation, signed Croatia’s Country Programme Framework (CPF) for the period of 2020-2025 on 7 December and on 18 December 2020, respectively. A CPF is the frame of reference for the medium-term planning of technical cooperation between a Member State and the IAEA and identifies priority areas where the transfer of nuclear technology and technical cooperation resources will be directed to support national development goals.
