How early warnings about dangerous products may be missed

How early warnings about dangerous products may be missed Consumer Reports’ investigation finds the government system is broken Tags:  How early warnings about dangerous products may be missed SAN ANTONIO – When it comes to removing dangerous products from the marketplace, most of us assume that government regulators are able to move quickly to protect us. But that’s not always true. A Consumer Reports investigation found a broken system within the Consumer Product Safety Commission, leaving unsuspecting consumers vulnerable to injuries, or even death, from dangerous products. A malfunctioning fire extinguisher, a lawn mower, and a nail gun that shoots nails sideways are three products that all allegedly were linked to horrific injuries. Yet, most people have probably never heard of them.

Eating habits have changed because of COVID-19, but health should still be top of mind

But there are consequences – and if you’ve gained weight or are eating worse, you need to get back on track. We’ve had major changes to our lifestyles, our routines, and our habits because of the pandemic. A recent Consumer Reports survey found that 80 per cent of Americans have made at least one change in what they eat, or the way they source or prepare it. And those changes can impact your health.
