Leon Ford's memoir recounts life before police shooting and activism

On today’s episode of The Confluence: Activist Leon Ford has published a memoir about his experience as a survivor of a police shooting, and subsequent work to promote collaboration between residents and law enforcement; with funding from the National Science Foundation, Carnegie Mellon University will launch a new research institute that looks to bolster artificial intelligence and decision making in public health and disaster management; and a look at programs that are working to create more energy efficient homes that are also more affordable in Pennsylvania.
