Four contests emerged among elective-officer positions up for grabs in Swampscott s 2021 municipal election, said Town Clerk Susan Duplin after she certified candidates nomination papers.
Barring candidates withdrawing their names, voters will see a mixture of political newcomers and incumbents who will be contested and uncontested on the Tuesday, April 27 municipal election ballot.
Atlantic Avenue resident Charlie Patsios and incumbent Michael McClung will compete for a yearlong term as Swampscott town moderator.
Incumbent Peter Spellios faces a challenge from Elmwood Road resident Mary Webster for a three-year term on the Swampscott Board of Selectmen.
