Roy Exum: The Saturday Funnies - Chattanoogan.com

Roy Exum: The Saturday Funnies Saturday, March 13, 2021 - by Roy Exum Roy Exum It is with great hope that when the United States switches to Daylight Saving Time tomorrow, it will be for the last time. The truth is very few people embrace it and on Sunday morning, when we “spring forward” by an hour at 2 a.m., we will soon be rid of this albatross. In World War I some goof believed it was a way to save energy and fuel but now, 55 years later, there are 15 states with pending legislation, ready to act on the archaic regulation if Congress does not. The federal 1966 Uniform Time Act had good intentions, yet they were silly – every day still had 24 hours. Try to tell a dog, or a milk cow, to spring forward.
