Lake Charles City Hall Has Website To Report Flood Damage

Lake Charles City Hall Has Website To Report Flood Damage After the third heaviest rain the Lake Area has experienced on record, those 15 inches we received caused a lot of damage to personal and commercial properties. Lake Charles City Hall is asking all residents who received damage from flooding to report it to www.damage.la.gov. The site is easy to walk through and will ask you for pictures of the damage you received from the storm. The website is designed to collect information of where flooding occurred to help local and state officials focus on locations that need the most help. The information attained from the website will aid in helping the area get incredibly necessary recovery assistance, once again. It does not guarantee anyone will receive the assistance, but it will help prove that we do, indeed, need it.

Fluffy, wet snow blankets the Danville area

January 28, 2021 DANVILLE, Va. – Danville residents awakened to a winter wonderland as the area was blanketed by wet, fluffy snow. National Weather Service meteorologist Nick Fillo said the fast moving storm system brought 3-4 inches of snow to the region overnight. Little was sticking to roads  but he cautioned that driving may be hazardous, especially on side streets and in residential areas. The snowfall tapered off around daybreak with little additional accumulation. Public Works reports that streets are mostly clear, with slush in some areas. Danville Transit is running regular service Thursday. Utilities crews  responded to scattered outages throughout the service territory. The outages are snow-related, with the wet, heavy snow weighing down power lines and tree limbs. A city spokesman says about 1,500 customers were without power around 8 a.m.

Crews Work To Repair Water Line Break Between Harvard, Yale

By: Brooke Griffin TULSA, Okla. - Tulsa Public Works Crews are working to repair a water line break on 36th St. between Harvard and Yale Friday morning. Those crews have been working through the night to get the line fixed. Tulsa Police closed the road in both directions around 11:30 p.m. on Thursday night on 36th St. between Toledo and Pittsburgh since the break is at the Sandusky intersection, but there is a marked detour route for through traffic. As of 5 a.m. on Friday, the road is still closed and there is a large hole taking up more of the intersection at 36th and Sandusky. Crews said water services have been shut off to about eight homes in the area since around 1 a.m.
