The Office of Hawaiian Affairs is making available more than $9 million in grant solicitations to help Native Hawaiians. Solicitations include community grants to strengthen ʻohana (family), moʻomeheu (culture) and ʻāina (land) connections, and grants to support education, health, housing, economic stability, homestead communities, and iwi kūpuna repatriation and reinternment.
The Office of Hawaiian Affairs Board of Trustees has reelected Maui Trustee Carmen “Hulu” Lindsey as its chair. All nine members of the board were inducted last week at an investiture ceremony at Kawaiahaʻo Church.
“Let’s face it, last year wasn’t a piece of cake for them (our employees),” stated Webster Village president Jeff Roberts. “Maybe we could spend some money on them?”
