The La Plaine Constituency has seen numerous investments from the Government of Dominica in various sectors as they move towards building a Dynamic Dominica.
The housing and education sector has benefitted from these investments, as well as other social programmes in the constituency.
While the Government’s ongoing housing revolution has already touched the La Plaine constituency, the Member of Parliament, Honourable Kent Edwards stated that there are still housing concern to be addressed in other parts of the area.
To date, over ten million dollars have been spent on housing in the La Plaine Constituency following the devastation of Hurricane Maria in 2017.

SAINT Lucia’s Economic Recovery and Resilience Plan (ERRP) played a critical role in implementing measures geared to stimulate the economy as the island ‘dug deep’ to stay afloat in light of COVID-19.
While presenting the Appropriation Bill, this week, Prime Minister Allen Chastanet explained that three Recovery pillars and three Resilience pillars were utilized to strategise the ERRP program.
The program covered 32 interventions under the ERRP to sustain those recovery strategies.
He outlined a list of interventions that were undertaken to help cushion the resultant ‘economic shocks’ posed by COVID-19.

Time after time, there has been calls for some attention be paid to national sports people, (past and present), who have fallen on hard times, be it financially or as a consequence of some unforeseen circumstances, namely illness.
Unfortunately, when the misfortune befall some of these sportsmen and women, the common cry is for the government to step in to assist. This recommendation is often accompanied by the suggestions of taking from one area of expenditure and providing for those persons who are the victims of circumstances.
Invariably, it is the benevolence and concern of citizens or some assistance from government, either direct of through state agencies, that come to the rescue of the victims. Also, some national associations would chip in and provide some help.
