gravity. the democrats started off as underdogs. then they had to contend with a string of really bad luck, part of it just the end of the pandemic s worth phase. getting back to normal, they were lingering supply chain issues from the pandemic, led to concerns that very well-documented baby formula shortage. those supply chain issues were also one factor in a record high inflation, which again, was afflicting basically every country across the world. but, you know, you can t tell voters, well, everyone is in the same boat. it really did seem poised to be the single undoing of the biden administration. pardon of that inflation where the enormous high gas prices. another issue for incumbent democrats. republicans, again, this is a political layup. taking every opportunity to talk about the price at the pump and how it s democrats fault. of course, part of the reason gas prices were so high is the biden administration was trying to contend with the largest land war in europ
it s a game changer. we re also fixing what s called, and this has been the bane of driving me crazy when i was out of office. the public service loan forgiveness program. now, this program forgives student loans to encourage those students who have those loans if they go in to public service. think of the millions who are. public school teachers, local police officers, workers at local charities, members of the military and national guard, and so many more, think of the folks who work for federal, state, local, travel governments, keeping essentially services going, respond to go natural disaster, all of those firefighters and cops. the program is designed so if you serve in one of these jobs and be able to list those and be able to accurately assess whether you do, and make your loan payments for ten years, even if it s not consecutive years, your remaining balance will be completely forgiven. it s a great idea but the program is a mess. it s so inefficient, and complicated

right now i am refusing to move on from last week s racial terror in buffalo. and that is because, i still have tears drowning on my suit. the day after i visited the city as head of national action network, in solidarity with those in mourning, after a white supremacist shot and killed ten of their friends and loved ones. one week ago today. and while yes, much of america s response has been of condolence and condemnation, the president and his visit to buffalo, denouncing the growing threat of white supremacist terror, while his justice department primes new initiatives to combat hate nationally. and starkest contrast, many right-wing politicians and entertainers have stubbornly dug in, either doubling down on the conspiracy theories of parent lee embraced by the alleged buffalo shooter, or refusing to acknowledge the danger polls but this rhetoric, even after the death of nearly a dozen innocent people. thoughts, and prayers, aside i heard from so many families in buffalo
