This event brings together the law school, the university, and the larger and broader Orange County community to talk about one of the most important but most publicly neglected institutions, the United States Supreme Court. Youre part of one where were trying to convince those High School Students that they better understand this and they should understand its history and they should how it relates to democracy, human rights, et cetera, rule of law, because if they dont understand it, they wont have it. Thats the connection between the courthouse, the judiciary committee, the judiciary itself and the document that you want to talk about which im delighted to let you talk about. One or two more questions that are always people ask, i assume you. When you got on the Supreme Court, appointed by president clinton, when you had your interview with him, famously you had been injured, unfortunately, in a bicycle accident and then you kind of get out of the hospital to go to the interview or wasnt that kind of awkward to go do an interview when you were not in such good shape, you had broken some bones . I dont know. I cant remember. All right. So you get on the court. You get on the Supreme Court and when youre
Hints about Jeff Sessions future in the trump administration. Trump saying his job is safe, at least until the midterm elections. That news amid new reporting that President Trump and his allies, or i should say his allies are worrying about the white house. The white house is about to get caught flat footed amid a crush of potential investigations. And as trump struggles to get his story straight on the very latest white house official to be stepping down. That counsel, don mcgahn, first trump tweeting his soninlaw and daughter had nothing to do with this socalled pushing out of don mcgahn, seeming to imply that mcgahn wasnt really pushed out. But then this, an hour and a half later saying the russia witch hunt didnt come into play with his decision on don mcgahn, which seems to mean that he was fired. Now, the white house later telling nbc trumps decision referred to him accepting mcgahns departure, but mcgahn is leaving as trumps advisers tell the washington post, the white house is
Im going to talk to the man who was the lawyer for nixons Vice President , but we start with extraordinary new legal pressure on trump. Trumps chief Financial Officer Allen Weisselberg is talking to the feds with immunity. Hes the guy who prepared trumps tax returns, oversaw all of the Trump Organization Financial Transactions and infrastructure, including, apparently, the hush money. The feds referred to weisselberg has executive one in the Michael Cohen court documents, the one who arranged for, quote, payment for services rendered, the hush money to cover up trumps alleged affairs. Weisselberg is in the center of it, the guy put in charge after the election. He has relinquished leadership and management of the Trump Organization to his sons don and eric, and a longtime trump executive Allen Weisselberg. Don, eric and allen are committed to ensuring that the activities of the Trump Organization are beyond reproach. All right, so those activities of the Trump Organization may soon lea
Quiet about the frozen military aid at the heart of this plot. That frozen aid is at the center of the impeachment case. And now democrats say these new emails highlight the need for more evidence and more witnesses. Stop the aid, 91 minutes after trump calls zelensky and said keep it hush hush. From whom did duffy get the order . From whom did duffy get the order and why did he do it . What more do you need to request a witness . So today the Top Republican in the Senate Mitch Mcconnell saying theyll decide on witnesses after the trial starts. What we need to do is to listen to the arguments, have a written questioning period and then decide whether we need witnesses or not. And new tonight, a possible curveball for trump. Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee telling a federal court that they want former White House Counsel Don Mcgahn to testify so they can decide, quote, whether to recommend additional articles of impeachment. That obviously would be a Huge Development and sign
