The Price Tribunal has confirmed an increase in bread prices, effective Sunday, December 10. This new price structure applies only to rectangular, sliced loaves produced by Avarua Bakery and Turoa Bakery.
The Price Tribunal yesterday announced a further drop in petrol prices which will come into effect from today. However the price of LPG (gas) has increased in Rarotonga and the rest of the Southern Group.
The head of the organisation that regulates fuel prices in the Cook Islands says the shortage of petrol on Rarotonga is 'inevitable' under the current supply model, and will continue to be so until changes are made.
