HOLLIDAYSBURG An Altoona man was sentenced Thursday to three to six years’ incarceration for strangling a woman during a domestic dispute, plus an additional 30 days’ incarceration for assaulting or harassing three people who came to the woman’s aid.
Alexander R. Strohecker, 27, who has been in Blair County Prison since Oct. 19, 2019, when Altoona police arrested him at North Second Street and North Sixth Avenue, apologized to the victim before President Judge Elizabeth Doyle imposed his sentence.
“I wish I could go back 14 months and do things so different,” Strohecker said as he spoke of having changed while in prison. “I’m so sorry for what I did to you. I’m not that person anymore.”
