but there are absolutely things that have to be looked at, alisyn. oh, tom, it s just chilling to think about all of those warning signs beforehand and what residents were seeing. thank you for looking into all that. so, this building collapse is also raising questions about the safety of similar buildings in the area. let s bring in cnn s brian todd. brian, what is being done now to make sure that other buildings are safe? well, alice, this process is now going on with hundreds of buildings throughout south florida. they re now scrambling to make sure that what happened in surfside does not happen to them. this is one of those complexes. this is the winston tower complex in sunny isles beach, florida, just a few miles north of surfside. here s a look at the complex. this is bigger than the champlaign towers. this is a 24-story building but it is the same age as the champlaign towers complex. it s 40 years old and it has a similar layout. the pool deck is up there above a parking

u.s. department of transportation. mary, airlines that had been told to stop travelers from boarding planes are now being told to allow the passengers to fly. they are apirntly following that order. this is a lot of confusion, isn t it? how is it going to impact airlines, travelers? it does impact all of the above. airlines have rules in place and so do our federal regulations. airlines own contracts of carriage which can be found online. they tell you whose responsibility it is for the visas, et cetera. if you are flying on a u.s. carrier, you have a couple of advantages. we have a preinspection service where all of your documents are submitted in advance before the plane takes off in most cases. there are exceptions for some ports of call for the airlines. you would know before the plane takes off whether you are going to face a problem when you land. again, when you land, u.s. federal regulations say that if
