In a video conference held with District Collectors, Additional Collectors, DM&HOs, District Hospital/Area Hospital Superintendents and other officials from BRKR Bhavan, the makeshift Secretariat, here on Saturday he discussed the steps to be taken to control Covid-19 spread. He highlighted the need to synergise the efforts of all departments to combat the pandemic.

9 O2 tankers airlifted from Hyd to Angul, Odisha Updated: Updated: Share Article AAA Nine empty oxygen tankers were airlifted in C-17s aircrafts planes from Hyderabad, Telangana, to Angul, Odisha, on Friday morning to cut down time it takes for road journey. Around 150 metric tons of oxygen would be brought in using these tankers. Indian Air Force (IAF) extended their services. One way distance from Hyderabad to Angul is 1058 kms. It takes over three days for two-way journey. Senior officials told The Hindu earlier that this amount of time cannot be spent in the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. On Friday morning, the State Health Minister Eatala Rajender, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, Drug Control Administration’s director Preeti Meena oversaw the process of getting the tankers into the planes.

Telangana Airlifts Oxygen Cylinders From Odisha To Meet Shortage At Covid Apr 23, 2021, 15:40 IST As per the directions of the Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, the state government with Defence aircraft airlifted eight oxygen tankers to the liquid oxygen plants in Odisha state.  This will not only save time but will also help in resolving the oxygen shortage problem in the state to a great extent.  It is the first instance when oxygen tankers have been airlifted. Minister for Health and Family Welfare Eetala Rajender, along with  Chief Secretary, Somesh Kumar, IAS, and other officials were present at the Begumpet airport today to personally oversee the airlifting operations.  Two C17 aircraft of the Indian Air Force were deployed for the purpose commanded by Wing Commander  Chaitanya and Wing Commander Nijhawan.

Around 150 metric tonnes of oxygen will be brought in to Telangana using these tankers. Officials told the newspaper that it will take more than three days for a two-way journey from Hyderabad to Angul in Odisha, where the plant is located. The decision to airlift tankers was taken to save time. The tankers will return by road by April 27 after covering a journey of 1,058 kms.
