Helipad on Lalitha Mahal land: Pramoda Devi Wadiyar objects to public hearing about felling of trees

Mysore/Mysuru: Member of erstwhile Mysore royal family Pramoda Devi Wadiyar has objected to the public hearing called by the Forest Department on Apr. 23 to elicit public opinion on cutting of more than 100 trees for the proposed Heli-Tourism project in the surroundings of Lalitha Mahal Palace.  In a letter to Divisional Conservator of Forests (Territorial), Mysuru Division, Pramoda Devi has termed the public hearing as an unauthorised activity as the land in question is a not a public but a private property. The Department had publicised about the public hearing through media to be held on Apr. 23 at 11 am at Aranya Bhavan, Ashokapuram where public can air their opinion about tree felling.

Will continue fight for Mysuru royal family's properties: Pramoda Devi Wadiyar | Mysuru News

Pramoda Devi Wadiyar MYSURU: Reiterating her intention to continue the legal fight to reclaim properties of the erstwhile Mysuru royal family, Pramoda Devi Wadiyar on Saturday asked the government to provide the documents. Pramoda Devi, interacting with the media at the Mysore Palace, touched on the property at Kurbarahalli at the foot of Chamundi Hills. The prime property was fenced on Thursday, and a notice erected announcing the family’s ownership of the land. While the high court ruled that the prime property, worth crores of rupees, belonged to the erstwhile Mysuru royal family, the state government has now moved the Supreme Court questioning the order.

We have only secured our property, says Pramoda Devi Wadiyar

Fencing of land near Lalitha Mahal Helipad Mysuru: Following reports that a gate has sprung up overnight at Lalitha Mahal Helipad area, where  a board has also been installed which read “This land is the private property of P.D. Wadiyar and legal action will be initiated against anyone found trespassing or conducting unauthorised transactions- Palace Estate Officer- Mysuru,” member of erstwhile Mysore royal family Pramoda Devi Wadiyar has clarified on the issue. Addressing a press meet at Mysore Palace yesterday, Pramoda Devi Wadiyar said that some persons have misunderstood the purpose of erecting the gate and installation of a board near Lalitha Mahal Helipad. Asserting that the gate has been erected on the path leading to the helipad as part of securing her property following a High Court order, she said that no fencing has been done on the path. But as some persons are indulged in a misinformation campaign, she was forced to issue the clarification.
