In a long time, and that is passed a longterm bipartisan highway and transit bill, but no one has said how is it going to be funded yet. Where you go from here . Do you go from here . Mr. Defazio well, that is not the jurisdiction of our committee, and that is something the Republican Leadership is promising to deliver, which is funding at the baseline level. At the end of six years, that is what we get stuck with for six years. The system will be more deteriorated than it is today. So i am hopeful that sometime along the way, either in some yearend giant budget deal or next year or with a more enlightened congress and a new president two years from now, we will get needed additional investment in our Service Transportation infrastructure. And i have a provision in the bill that says if additional funds become available into the trust fund, they will be spent with no further a do or action by congress. The appropriators cant touch it. Its not easy when youre living in a prison. Its not easy to see the freedom right away. And thats why im speaking, because i love this country. Im just very grateful for this country. It gave me my freedom. [applause] so ever since after 9 11 happened, a lot of americans, remember, were saying, where are the voices of the middle eastern people to speak against jihad and to stand

Some do not want no part of the process of change. Still others include labor in a very long list of other political actors. This obviously is in our attitude. When organized, united, and equipped with a democratic vision. The working class in this sector possess transformative power. Of course, this is not the case today. The membership is at its lowest level since world war ii. It is on the defensive and fractured.
