Pull List Roundtable 12/16/2020 – Death Metal, Post Americana, Endless Winter & More

Batman #105 Superman #28 However, I am “intrigued” by Warren Ellis’ likely last ever work for DC with Batman’s Grave #12 (Ellis has been accused of very heinous behavior that I will not litigate here). Plus Image’s Post Americana #1 looks interesting based solely on my appreciation of artist-writer Steve Skroce. Finally, Marvel’s Symbiote Spider-Man efforts have been pretty good over the last several months, but not sure how I like a King in Black focused prequel. We’ll see. Fulton: I read the first issue or two of Batman’s Grave, what feels like a decade ago, but was probably less than a year, and wasn’t all that impressed. Post Americana #1 Review: Gonzo Indulgences in a Post-Apocalyptic America

Post Americana #1 Review: Gonzo Indulgences in a Post-Apocalyptic America Little Bird, First Knife, and East of West are only a few examples of careful considerations of how the American empire might end in comics, each of them a uniquely thoughtful take on facets ranging from culture to ecology. Even Steve Skroce’s last work at the publisher We Stand On Guard with writer Brian K. Vaughan approached the sub-genre as the American military overreached in conquering Canada. Skroce channels the ultraviolent appearances and grungy future tech that made even the darkest chapters of
