LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) â Step by step and page by page, kids are getting outside and finding a new way to appreciate reading in Lexington s Beaumont neighborhood.
Once back in person at Rosa Parks Elementary School, Library Media Specialist Katy Hollinger wanted to do something to spice up recess for the kids. She was inspired by a story walk at the Arboretum, so she decided to bring a version of that to her school s backyard.
Hollinger said, Sometimes I feel like they re just kind of walking around the track aimlessly, and I thought what a perfect way to also get a book and read as they walk.

MERCER COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) â Some sheep are making themselves right at home on a farm in Mercer County . a solar farm that is.
Kentucky Utilities has partnered with Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill to put the animals to work at the E.W. Brown Generating Station just outside of Harrodsburg, and now you can check it out for yourself.
The sheep were brought in about a year ago to help maintain the vegetation on the 50-acre farm, and the combination of their healthy appetites for grass and ability to get into hard-to-mow places has made for the perfect marriage.
