SF Is Getting Its Supervisor Districts Redrawn Next Year

SF Is Getting Its Supervisor Districts Redrawn Next Year Your supervisorial district gets changed slightly every ten years after the Census is completed, and that process is getting underway for next year. Certified results for the 2020 U.S. Census will start getting released this week, and as such, congressional districts across American will be redrawn to reflect population changes. California is expected to lose a congressional seat for the first time in decades, while Florida and Texas are expected to pick up seats. You will also see your California State Senate and State Assembly districts redrawn, and the process even trickles down to individual San Francisco street block designations for who represents you at City Hall. The 11 SF supervisor districts will also be redrawn, and SF Public Press reports the city is getting ready to start drawing new supervisorial districts.

San Francisco s Portola District develops multi-mural community art project to build long-lasting relationships through murals

SAN FRANCISCO Public art brings people together and connects communities. Many neighborhoods in San Francisco have turned to murals to help beautify and bring pride to spaces. The Portola District in San Francisco started a multi-mural art project to unify the area. The two-year project has built relationships between neighbors and businesses through beautiful works of art. The murals reflect the diverse multilingual community that is represented in the neighborhood. The purpose of the project was for everyone in the community to come together and present ideas and for all voices to be heard. Communicating ideas that go across language barriers, cultural barriers, economic barriers really felt like the perfect way to bring people together around something that s beautiful, said Alex Hobbs of Portola Neighborhood Association.

SF s Best Neighborhood Restaurants, According to Food Industry Insiders

San Francisco restauranteur Rica Sunga-Kwan, the owner of Portola District ice cream shop Churn Urban Creamery I ordered a lot of Burma Love because at some points the only option for excitement in my day was food that was bold and spicy. And because I could add on a container of the spicy fermented tea leaf dressing and Burmese crunchy mix for “DIY” tea leaf salads. I also ordered too much pizza (Slice House, Square Pie Guys, Beretta) because if not now, when, and because pizza will always be the food that travels best? Oh, and Bacon Bacon continued to be my hangover savior. It’s way too close to my apartment. I probably need to move.
