The City Council has the final say on the proposed zoning change, requested by a developer hoping to build several warehouses on 52 acres in the historic neighborhood.
The changes, which have to be approved by the City Council, would pave the way for transformation of the site of the former B&M Baked Beans factory into a new graduate school and research center.
Thursday's neighborhood meeting only drew one interested person. The development team will present its initial plans to the planning board at a workshop Oct. 25.
