Two militant associates arrested in Awantipora: Police

Awantipora: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday claimed to have arrested two Jaish-e-Muhammad militant associates who were providing shelter and logistical support to active militants in Awantipora and Tral areas of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. They have been identified as Shezaan Gulzar Beigh, resident of Gadhikhal Charsoo Awantipora and Waseem-ul-Rehman Sheikh from Midoora Awantipora. The duo was involved in providing shelter and logistical and kind of support to the Jaish-e-Muhammad militants in the areas and incriminating material was seized from their possession, a police officer told Kashmir Reader. Awantipora Police along with Army’s 42 RR and 130 battalion CRPF arrested two militant associates of proscribed outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad from Awantipora area who are involved in providing shelter, support, logistics, as well as in transporting of arms/ ammunition of the militants in Awantipora and Tral area and passing sensitive information to the militants of proscribed o

LeT associate held in J-K s Awantipora, incriminating materials recovered ANI | Updated: Jan 02, 2021 04:51 IST Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], January 2 (ANI): The security forces arrested an associate of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) and recovered incriminating materials including explosive substance, from his possession in Awantipora of Pulwama district, Jammu and Kashmir police said on Friday. The police in a statement said that the arrested associate of LeT outfit has been identified as Aqif Ahmad Teli, a resident of Cherso, Awantipora. Teli was involved in providing shelter, logistics and other support to the terrorists as well as in transporting of arms, ammunition and explosive materials of the terrorists in the Awantipora and Tral areas in Pulwama district, the police said.

OGW tasked to kill Councillor arrested OGW tasked to kill Councillor arrested Excelsior Correspondent Srinagar Jan 1: Police today said that they arrested an Over Ground Worker of militants who was tasked to kill a recently elected Councillor in Baramulla town of North Kashmir. Addressing a news conference in Baramulla, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Baramulla, Abdul Qayoom said that the arrested OGW was tasked to recruit youth and to kill a newly elected Councillor. “The Councillor has been informed about the intentions of militants”, he said He said that the OGW has faced four PSAs in the past. He said that they arrested a militant associate, Asif Gull, early this week who was under the police radar for the past eight months for his involvement in a grenade attack in Baramulla in August last year that claimed the lives of security personnel besides having over two dozen cases registered against him.

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday claimed to have arrested a militant associate and recovered incriminating materials including explosive substance from his possession in Awantipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district. A police spokesperson in a statement said that Awantipora Police along with 42RR and 130Bn CRPF arrested one militant associate of proscribed outfit LeT identified as Aqif Ahmad Teli resident of Cherso Awantipora. “As per police records he was involved in providing shelter, logistic and other support to the active militants, besides transporting arms and ammunition in Awantipora and Tral areas. He was also involved in recruiting local youth in ranks and distribution of money. In this regard, the bank transactions of the arrested militant associate are also being investigated,” said the spokesman.
