A Delhi Police head constable, posted with the Jamia Nagar police station, was arrested for allegedly kidnapping a robbery accused and demanding Rs 3 lakh from his family to release him. The kidnapped man was rescued from inside the police station.
On May 25, a woman in Delhi s Sunlight Colony police station complained that her brother has been kidnapped and a ransom of Rs 3 lakh was sought by the abductors. In a phone call to report the matter, she said, “Right now I am standing at the Sarai Kale bus stand with Rs 1 lakh, they have asked for Rs 3 lakh.”

A 23-year-old former manager of a dairy product company and his friend were arrested for allegedly robbing a Romanian woman in southeast Delhi s Lajpat Nagar area, the police said on Thursday.
The accused have been identified as Hardik Arya, a resident of Vaishali Sector 6 in Ghaziabad, and Sonu Kumar (23), a residernt of East of Kailash, they said, adding that three cases have been solved.
On Wednesday, police received information regarding robbery with a woman near Defence Colony flyover, Lajpat Nagar-I. Police rushed to the spot and met complainant Simona Elina Chihai, a citizen of Romania, a senior police officer said.
