MANILA - The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Sunday reported 54 new recoveries from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), bringing the number of recoveries among its personnel to 40,191. Data from the PNP Health Service also recorded 66 new cases of Covid-19, bringing the number of personnel who got infected with the disease to 41,266. Total active cases remained at 953 while deaths at 122. PNP chief Gen. Guillermo Eleaar attributed the marked improvement in the police Covid-19 situation to responsive healthcare and prevention, including the full vaccination of 85.6 percent of the entire 222,000-strong PNP. On the PNP-wide vaccination rollout, a total of 374,002 doses have been administered to 218,895 PNP personnel, with 191,019 or 85.63 percent now fully-vaccinated while 27,875 or 12.50 percent awaiting the second dose.
