Thank you for joining us on this friday morning. Lets get right to that breaking news, the most violent night of protests so far in minneapolis. Anger over the death of george floyd boiling over as protesters gained access to a Police Station overnight setting fire to the building just hours after prosecutors said they are not ready to announce whether charges will be filed in connection with floyds death. 500 soldiers with the Minnesota National guard have now been activated to respond to the growing violence. At least 170 businesses have been damaged so far. This is video of a liquor store on fire. The fire chief saying, quote, we will aggressively fight these fires, but well retreat if its not safe. Demands for an arrest in the case have grown since video showed floyd moments before his death handcuffed with a Police Officers knee on his neck. This morning were learning more about previous complaints against that officer as protests spread to cities far beyond minneapolis. Overnight

The most notable name on the list the people who are actually honored in the capital with the statue from the collection of statues where each state gets to send to people would probably be Jefferson Davis, who was the confederate president during the war. Rat is basically the leadership in the senate and the house a Administration Committee in the house that wants to remove the statute anyway. What we have heard from republicans at least, Kevin Mccarthy and Mitch Mcconnell has said that you need the state to make this decision. And theyre welcome to send other statues, we have seen over the years and the change and they would like to see them gone even if perhaps some of the Southern State legislators would be inclined to replace them. Now that she sent that letter was a process. Whether or not theyre going to do much of anything, this is separate from the other issue that congress is also debating and a role for congress itself, the question of naming military bases that you mention

People people whose very job at a protest is to both documented and keep people safe are now being beaten arrested and shot by rubber bullets and pepper sprayed in the face why to keep the peace if that is the peace the Law Enforcement represents then let me ask you is that a peace worth keeping. Yes windows have been broken yes buildings have been burned innocent people have been hurt but is the destruction of commercial or private property by looters or riders justification enough for the police or now even possibly the military to wage war on those brave it up in our society to take to the streets and march for equality in criminal justice reform. Let me tell you something thats only justified when the government is no longer of the people for the people and by the people and has descended into what is a very constitution and bill of rights protects against fascism. And fighting against that descent into fascism is why we are always watching the hawks. Whats going on in a city stree
