Within half an hour, the generators were gone. They are going fast. People are scrambling for supplies, food and bottled water. Florida, georgia, and the emergency in place. Millions ordered to evacuate in the next 48 hours. You can still have hurricane conditions on the coast, storm surge, and heavy rainfall. You dont have to be near the center of the storm to be at the center of action. Fema warning residents in the affected areas to leave before its too late. The center of the storm is expected to approach florida tomorrow night. Thousands of National Guardsmen standing by to help, if it maintains its strength hurricane state in more than a decade. Hour winds may actually go up some and its possible it could be a category four storm. Once it nears florida, the center could stay a little bit offshore right on the coastline or maybe even touch land. Any one of those three possibilities, a small shift, either way they get impacted significantly but it would be much better if the center stays offshore but it rides along the coastline possibly as a category four. Very dangerousrm the South Carolina coast but the big change in the last 24 hours, once it gets to this position, winds above it will force it to make a right turn so its not going to complete the trip up the coast above the carolinas. Video of that rescue a quartermile off crane beach. This is a coast guard helicopter hovering above the water and a diver being lifted with that swimmer out of the water to safety. Police say the man and his soninlaw went for a swim around 5 30 p. M. , they are experienced swimmers, they do this a couple times a week police say there was zero visibility and there were very strong currents. The younger of the two made it to shore on his own but his fatherinlaw was out there and they are experienced swimmers and they did the right thing and did not panic. That assisted with our rescue. Everyone did great job and things do not usually turn out this good. We are glad for that outcome. John thickly, both of these swimmers are expected to be ok.
