The City Council agreed to the spending agenda for the city of Pittsfield on Tuesday night, approving by a one-vote margin a fiscal 2024 budget of nearly $205.6 million.
The free event is a celebration of the Morningside neighborhood, as well as part of the culmination of The Mastheads spring poetry programming for Pittsfield Public School students.
Educators focused in on Morningside's issues, including the open space classrooms. More sessions are planned in developing the master plan for the school.
Pittsfield Public Schools contracted with a private hiring firm, BlazerWorks, to fill 46 open paraprofessional positions last year. A union in the district filed a complaint with the state s Labor
Pittsfield Public Schools Superintendent Joseph Curtis announced that Jason Hynek, who served as the Herberg Middle School principal through much of the pandemic, would no longer be leading the school.
