On Thursday, registration for the mandatory free adaptation program and Estonian language training will begin for all Ukrainian war refugees receiving temporary protection status in Estonia. The Police and Border Guard (PPA) is currently contacting all adults who receive temporary protection in Estonia, with the first 2,500 invited to study the Estonian language.
A new project aimed at getting those who have arrived in Estonia on a visa for short-term work or study purposes acquainted to local life more quickly, to help them adapt launched today, Friday.
The government will organize summer language schools for Ukrainians wanting to learn Estonian and 10,000 places will be made available. Some people have already started learning.
