Dagang NeXchange Berhad ( DNeX ), via its subsidiary Ping Petroleum UK, has renamed its recently acquired Floating Production Storage and Offloading ( FPSO ) vessel, previously known as the Sevan Hummingbird, to Excalibur. The FPSO will be used on the Avalon field development in UKCS Block 21/6b.
Cerulean Winds and Ping Petroleum UK have signed an agreement to create one of the UK's first offshore oil and gas facilities powered by offshore wind.
Ping Petroleum UK has reaffirmed its commitment to develop the Avalon Field, in the Central North Sea, with rejuvenation plans for the Hummingbird FPSO, which is now berthed in the Port of Nigg. Global E&C conducted a preliminary front-end engineering and design (pre-FEED) for the FPSO earlier in 2022. In line with The North Sea Transition Deal the FPSO will be modified to facilitate electrification from an external, low-carbon source.
