LOS ANGELES COUNTY, Calif. (KCBS) - A hiker who got lost in Californiaâs Angeles National Forest is now safe after a satellite mapping enthusiast used a single picture to find him.
The Los Angeles County Sheriffâs Department said rescuers found the hiker, 45-year-old Rene Compean, on Tuesday after he spent a night alone in the wilderness.
âYou donât think that sitting behind a computer and looking at a picture and going, âOh hey, that looks like it might be where he is,â would result in someone getting rescued,â said Benjamin Kuo.
