Corsair’s second-generation flagship PCIe Gen4 drive is the MP600 PRO, which uses Phison’s 2nd generation PCIe Gen4 controller, the E18, together with 3D TLC NAND to produce a drive capable of up to 7GB/s sequential reads. We find out whether or not this SSD can justify the £360 asking price.
The MP600 PRO is available in just two capacities (at the time of writing), 1TB and 2TB. At the heart of the drive is a second-generation Phison PS5018-E18 8-channel controller which looks after, in the case of the flagship 2TB drive, eight packages of Micron 96-layer 3D TLC NAND and a pair of DDR4 cache modules.
