january, this might not be happening at all. after a lot of democratic internal wrangling, the bill passed the senate over the weekend with exactly zero votes from the house. president biden said he would sign it as soon as he gets it, and the legislation could not be more urgently needed, as he indicated over the weekend. we took office 45 days ago. i promised the american people help was on the way. today i can say we ve taken one more giant step forward in delivering on that promise, that help was on the way. today the white house said the $1400 checks included in the plan could start going out by the end of the month. make no mistake, this bill is massive. it stands to help millions and millions of americans who have been economically crippled by a near year-long pandemic. the bill spends most of the money on the american people, describing it as the most generous form of aid ever going out. more than 93% of children, 69 million, would receive benefits under the plan.
