Charlie Hebdo's Meghan Markle Cover Blasted as Racist For Evoking George Floyd

Charlie Hebdo s Meghan Markle Cover Blasted as Racist For Evoking George Floyd On 3/15/21 at 6:46 AM EDT Meghan Markle has been depicted as George Floyd on the cover of controversial French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, sparking an outcry. The Duchess of Sussex said a royal family member made comments about how dark her unborn baby s skin would be in her bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey. However, Charlie Hebdo s coverage of the claims triggered a backlash after a cartoon on the front cover depicted Queen Elizabeth II with her knee on Meghan s neck. The magazine is the same one that was targeted by terrorists, Said and Cherif Kouachi, who killed 12 and wounded 11 in the newsroom in January 2015.

Plea for South Cumbrians not to delay treatment if suffering signs of a stroke

Residents in South Cumbria are being urged not to delay seeing help if they have signs of having a stroke. Some hospitals in Lancashire and South Cumbria are experiencing a reduction in people attending with symptoms of a stroke. Doctors, Nurses, former Stroke Survivors and their carers are worried that people are not acting on the signs of a stroke quick enough and want to therefore reassure patients. Together they are encouraging people to recognise the main signs of stroke and dial 999. The main signs include: face, arms, speech, time (FAST). Phil Woodford, a stroke survivor from Catterall, said: “We understand that people might not want to attend hospital at the moment but I’d urge anyone that if they need to make that call, to do so and dial 999 without delay.
