Health bosses hope the majority of over-80s in the Canterbury district will be vaccinated against Covid-19 in the next fortnight - but doctors say they haven t got enough.
By the end of the week, about 6,000 jabs will have been administered in Canterbury, Herne Bay and Whitstable.

But some doctors are frustrated that sparse and unpredictable deliveries of batches are slowing down the vaccination process.
Dr John Ribchester, senior and executive partner at Whitstable Medical Practice, believes as many as 1,000 jabs could be administered per day.
He also urged people to get vaccinated and keep following the guidance. Cllr Carroll, who is also an epidemiologist, said: “There’s nothing wrong with people asking questions or having concerns. That’s normal – but it’s vital that people get their information from the correct sources because this [Pfzier/BioNTech vaccine] is a very safe and effective vaccine. “It’s been tested rigorously by the MHRA and they looked at it with huge amounts of scrutiny and detail. “So, it’s vital that we kick back the anti-vaxxers because it’s extremely dangerous to public health as it could lead to someone getting the virus and all that it entails.”

‘2m vaccines per week will have a much more substantial impact’
The paper said, “Vaccine roll out will further mitigate transmission, although the impact of vaccinating 200,000 people per week - similar in magnitude to the rates reached in December 2020 - may be relatively small.
“An accelerated uptake of two million people vaccinated per week is predicted to have a much more substantial impact.
“The most stringent intervention scenario with Tier 4 England-wide and schools closed during January, and two million individuals vaccinated per week, is the only scenario we considered which reduces peak ICU burden below the levels seen during the first wave.”
