David is pictured with David Pope, the area s District Governor Elect for the organisation. - Credit: Supplied by Wisbech Lions A dedicated member of Wisbech Lions has received the organisation’s highest honour for his 52 years’ service with the organisation.   David Lilley, the club’s outgoing treasurer, was awarded the Melvyn Jones Fellowship in recognition of his commitment.   He joined Lions Club International in April 1970 and has taken on most roles in various lions clubs.  For many years, he has served as secretary and treasurer for the Wisbech Lions.

Monadnock Ledger-Transcript Published: 2/24/2021 4:26:29 PM Friends of Jim Orr said he loved playing Santa Claus every December, loved helping those who needed someone to fight for them, and loved Peterborough, the place he called home for the past 40 years. Orr was a man about town, always armed with a good story, a corny joke or a listening ear, if that’s what was needed. Peterborough Selectman Ed Juengst remembered Orr, who died on Feb. 8 at Cheshire Medical Center at the age of 84, for his relentless pursuit in what he believed in. “The thing that really stands about Jim… was that passion he had,” Juengst said. “It’s like he was on the lookout for someone who needed help and he helped so many people in so many ways.”
