TRIBUNBATAM.id - Two earthquake shocks with a strength above magnitude 5 occurred in the waters southwest of Pesisir Barat, Lampung, today, Saturday (13/2/2021) at 11.18 WIB and 11.30 WIB.
Not only time, referring to information conveyed by the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) via Twitter, the two earthquakes occurred at points that were also close together.
The first earthquake was at the point of 6.81 South Latitude, 103.30 East Longitude or 193 km southwest of Pesisir Barat, Lampung.
5.5-magnitude quake shakes Pesisir Barat in Lampung 13th February 2021
BMKG logo Jakarta (ANTARA) - A 5.5-magnitude earthquake struck southwest of Pesisir Barat district, Lampung province on Saturday, though no tsunami warning was issued in its wake, the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported.
The quake, which occurred at 11.30 a.m. WIB (Western Indonesia Time), was centered 134 kilometers southwest of Pesisir Barat, at a depth of 10 kilometers, the BMKG informed in a written statement released on Saturday.
The quake was felt in Krui, Way Krui, Pesisir Barat, Bangkunat, Liwa, and Suoh, it said.
The BMKG had earlier reported another 5.3-magnitude earthquake southwest of Pesisir Barat at 11.18 a.m. WIB. The epicenter of the earthquake was located 193 kilometers southwest of Pesisir Barat, or 198 kilometers southeast of Enggano, Bengkulu province, at a depth of 10 kilometers.
