PERTH AMBOY - An application for four units of affordable housing in one building is set to come before the city zoning board next week.
Morris Habitat for Humanity Inc. in Randolph has filed a development application for the property at 361 Inslee St. and 362 Garretson Ave. to merge four vacant existing lots into one lot for the construction of a multi-family dwelling, according to a public notice.
Habitat for Humanity is looking to build a four-unit residential building for low- and moderate-income residents under New Jersey State Law.
A public hearing on the application is scheduled for 7 p.m. May 13 in the Council Chambers at Perth Amboy City Hall.
Remember the recent utter nonsense of Perth Amboy cops being investigated for confiscating some bicycles from some teenagers? Well the story isn’t over yet. A group of older bikers organized a ride in support of the imbecile teens who were causing problems on Perth Amboy streets. Those teens were riding in huge packs across entire roadways, into oncoming traffic, popping wheelies and ‘swerving.’ Swerving is a dangerous game of chicken where a kid will go head to head with a car whose driver never agreed to this game. At the very last split second the bike, hopefully, swerves and misses the oncoming car by mere inches.

After police handcuffed a Perth Amboy teenager and confiscated his and three friends’ bicycles after a wheelie-filled ride through traffic captured on video last week, dozens of cyclists held a ride in support of their younger two-wheeled compatriots on Monday night.
“We wanted to support the young men who wanted to ride without being arrested,” said Alturrick Kenney, 44, a member of the largely Black, Newark-based RBG Cycling group, who is also the Essex County surrogate. “We feel that laws that discourage people from cycling should be removed from the books.”
