New Superintendent Named For Hickory Public Schools

The Hickory Public Schools Board of Education announced the selection of the district’s new Superintendent during a specially called meeting Tuesday (June 8). The new Superintendent is Dr. Bryan W. Taylor. A native of Mount Airy, Taylor replaces Dr. Robbie Adell, who is retiring after 37 active years with the North Carolina Public Schools.
Assuming his duties later this summer, Dr. Taylor is currently serving as Assistant Superintendent of Stokes County Schools where he is responsible for district administration and operations. He was also the previous Superintendent of Avery County Schools, where he led the efforts to create a balanced and sustainable budget.
