Last spring the Quebec government's controversial religious symbols law, Bill 21, survived a court challenge, but the English Montreal School Board was granted an exemption from the law. That exemption doesn't kick in until all appeals have been exhausted. The EMSB asked the court Monday to allow the exemption immediately.
