KANGAR: Perlis is allowing all mosques to be fully opened for communal preaching from tomorrow. Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail said the activities which included religious talks, classes and so forth are allowed to start from dawn tomorrow during the Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) period. “All activities are allowed and the standard operating procedures (SOP) such as wearing of face mask, physical distancing of at least one metre, bringing personal prayer mat, taking ablution before going to the mosque and others, must be adhered to,“ he said in a statement issued by the Islamic Religious Council and Malay Custom Perlis (MAIPs) today.

Perlis to allow maximum capacity in mosques for obligatory prayers

The Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, in a statement issued by the Islamic Religious Council and Malay Custom Perlis (MAIPs) Thursday (Jan 28), said the Raja of Perlis Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Putra Jamalullail had consented to this. Tuanku Syed Faizuddin, who is also MAIPs president, said the permission was given as the pandemic was currently under control in the Perlis. Beginning from dawn (prayers) tomorrow (Jan 29) until Isyak time on Feb 4,2021, or until a later date which may be determined, mosques will be allowed to hold congregational prayers with maximum attendance, according to the size of the mosque, he said.

Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail advised the public to always check or confirm with the relevant parties such as banks and police before sharing their personal information with strangers. Advertisement “Never let others use your bank accounts and check before buying items (online). “Members of public who fall victim (to scammers) must not to delete proof of communication with these criminals such as emails, short message service (SMS), WhatsApp messages, telephone call log and so on to facilitate police investigation,” he said in a statement issued by the Perlis Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPs) today.
