Lenders made duplicate Paycheck Protection Program loans last year to more than 4,000 borrowers totaling about $692 million, the Small Business Administration‘s inspector general has found.
The SBA said it is working to claw back any improper payments. Meanwhile, Congress is rushing to sign off on a two-month extension of the popular loan program as soon as this week.

The President, Muhammadu Buhari, recently assigned portfolios to 52 non-career and 43 career ambassadors screened last year by the Senate. A cursory look at the postings released showed that 11 envoys were re-appointed with eight retaining their places of primary assignment, while the other three were redeployed to other countries.
But that is not all the list revealed; it also showed that of the 52 non-career ambassadors, Only 12 are women with three career ambassadors and heads of mission, bringing the grand total number of women to15 out of 95 slots.
Reacting to this development, the president of the Nigerian Women’s Trust Fund (NWTF) Mufuliat Fijabi said the dismal number of women appointed as ambassadors further demonstrates the lack of political will to include women in critical positions and in the governance process at all levels.

look, the facts are that, of course i support equal pay for equal work. and that s why a law was passed way back in 1963 guaranteeing the same. and if women are truly being discriminated against because of their gender they should use the law to its full effect. however, the biggest impediment to equal pay for equal work beyond pay practices and hillary clinton and president obama s offices is the seniority system. because the seniority system pays not on merit not on performance but on how long you have been in a job. and that seniority system disadvantages women and of course democrats support seniority systems in the unions in federal government bureaucracies if they are really serious about equal pay for equal work, they ought to push for reform of seniority systems and move to pay for performance systems. the unions good luck with that. are women necessarily better served by female politicians? does it matter the gender of our leaders? well, you know we don t
