The East Broad Top Railroad in Rockhill Furnace, Pennsylvania has restored a 107-year-old, steam-powered locomotive built by Philadelphia's Baldwin Locomotive Works in Philadelphia. The foundation that has restored the old EBT rail line in Huntington County, will begin offering guided tours on May 6, 2023.
PennDOT has awarded the Butler-Freeport Community Trail a $750,000 grant to reinforce sections of the trail that have cracked in Buffalo Township. The 21-mile recreational trail stretches from Freeport to Butler. “I am happy and elated to receive the grant,” said Chris Ziegler, president of the Butler-Freeport Community Trail council.
A virtual plan display for the proposed replacement of the Fourth Street Bridge in North Irwin is now available online for area residents to view, PennDOT said.
