HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) Pennsylvania lawmakers on Wednesday sent a bill to Gov. Josh Shapiro's desk that they say will save lives by helping patients afford additional screenings to diagnose breast cancer more quickly.
The Pennsylvania House of Representatives on Wednesday passed a Senate-approved bill that will remove financial barriers to preventing and detecting breast, ovarian and prostate cancer. It is the first bill to reach Shapiro for enactment.
Pennsylvania is aiming to expand breast cancer screenings through a bill that would help save lives. The bill says health insurers must cover out-of-pocket costs.
