LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) -For the first time since Hurricane Laura, Cameron parish officials gathered this morning for an investiture ceremony.
It was a historic day for Cameron Parish as they swore in newly elected and returning officials.
Sheriff Ron Johnson and Clerk of Court Susan Racca were sworn in officially this past June. Sheriff Johnson in his speech remarking what 2020 had brought to their community.
“These two hurricanes and COVID was a hiccup and a stall in time for us. But that grew us. That grew us in our grace of God. That grew us in our Christianity, and we come to realize that everything is not going to be perfect cause we live in an imperfect world, but we love Cameron Parish.”
