Our district, of course is the 6th street, where we have put in a pilot curve out to make it safer on 6 and market and 6 and howard, number one and number three on the list of the most dangerous intersections to cross, and of course, late last year, when we were able to implement, the pilot bike lanes after the tragic death of 24yearold, amalie maluac, these low costs, Safety Initiatives are what we are asking sfmta to commit to and we are asking them to commit to 24 over the next two years. And focusing on our high injury corridors. Now when we talk about committing to zero fatality its seems like an ambitious goal until you understand that 60 percent of the death occur on only 6 percent of our streets and when you think about that way, the goal seems a lot more manageable if we are able to focus or engineering and redesign and our Traffic Enforcement to 6 percent of our roads, and we can cut our injuries and deaths by over half. That was incorporated for the transit effectiveness project. Thats going through its process right now being designed at least for the transit component and looking at Pedestrian Safety as well. The folsom corridor that were identified in the project were focused on the central corridor in the Environmental Impact report that was looking on how to manage and improve the Street Network through so many so soma. Its been named central soma. A two and one way alternative will be used in terms of their lanes. We are going to widen the sidewalks and dedicate bicycle facilities and look at different transit options through there. One thing we have done recently because the eir process looks like it wont be completed until 2013, we looked at pilot on folsom street as a bicycle lane as part of that pilot and we are going to kick that off during this holiday season. We would like to see how it does. Before putting it into the eir, we are not able to see how these informed and this will help this
