Senior Congress leader and former Finance Minister P Chidambaram said he was a proud andolan jeevi (someone who thrives on protests) after Prime Minister Narendra Modi s recent remarks in the Rajya Sabha. He accepted the term as a badge of honour and tweeted, I am a proud andolan jeevi. The quintessential andolan jeevi was Mahatma Gandhi.
Congress leader and former Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram today sought to wear "Andolanjeevi", a term pejoratively used in Parliament two days ago, as a compliment. Purportedly aimed at those irresistibly drawn to mass agitations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had used it on Monday in the context of the ongoing farmers' protest against his government's three contentious farm laws.
BJP to Stage State-Wide Agitation on Temple Attacks:- The recent series of attacks on the Hindu temples in Andhra Pradesh created a stage of fear. The people are left in a state of panic and protested after the recent attack on a 400-year-old Lord Rama idol that took place in Ramatheertham, Vizianagaram district. The opposition parties slammed the government of Andhra Pradesh making the government responsible for the attacks. BJP and Janasena wanted to stage a protest in Ramatheertham yesterday but the plans are disturbed by the government after the cops arrested all the crucial leaders. Some others are house arrested and other crucial leaders are stopped when they are on their way to Ramatheertham after they started their journey from Vizag.
