On Wednesday, the company announced that it would reduce exposure to loans with ticket sizes less than ₹50,000 in the backdrop of the RBI s regulatory guidelines to curb unsecured consumer lending. Loans with this ticket size formed around 72% of the postpaid bucket in October and November compared with over 80% in the March 2023 quarter. However, such loans formed just over 4% of the personal loan portfolio in the first two months of the December quarter, down from around 8% in the March quarter.
Postpaid loan disbursement is expected to halve in the coming months, the company said. Investors were visibly upset, dragging the stock down almost 19% on Thursday.
