CARLSBAD City offers summer bike safety classes Children who are preparing to ride a bike or e-bike to school next year are invited to join the Carlsbad Police Department for a free one-hour class emphasizing safety.
Authorities have publicly identified a 33-year-old man who was killed over the Fourth of July weekend in a motorcycle crash on state Route 76 near Palomar Mountain.
The crash happened around 6:35 p.m. at Sengme Oaks Road, just west of the La Jolla Indian Campground, and west of Lake Henshaw, according to the California Highway Patrol.
