Local activists, families ask judges to consider parole for habitual offenders with nonviolent felonies Anthony Swift of the Clay County NAACP speaks about how Mississippi s House Bill 585 would allow the four people who are currently incarcerated, whose photos are held by family and NAACP representatives, to be eligible for parole in West Point on Thursday. The bill gives judges the authority to recommend those habitual offenders convicted of nonviolent felonies to parole boards.
