Market Talk – February 25, 2021 | Armstrong Economics

Spread the love ASIA: US Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack believes China is making good on promises it made as part of the landmark phase one trade deal it signed with the US last year. Vilsack said that the deal allows for market conditions to dictate how much Beijing is required to purchase from US farmers. The COVID pandemic, he added, would qualify as a material market condition that would impact how much China has to buy. India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced late Wednesday night that India would privatize 100 state assets, ranging from oil and gas projects to ports and airports and those in the power sector. The investment opportunities are said to total 2.5 trillion Indian rupees ($3.4 trillion), Reuters reported. India has subsequently launched the National Asset Monetization Pipeline to manage the shift.

Garden Station finds new nest in Galesburg

GALESBURG The hearts of many backyard gardeners might have dipped a bit if they recently saw the for sale sign posted at the location of The Garden Station, 107 N. Seminary St. But Garden Station owner Tammy Weaver tells her customers not to worry; she has found a spot for new version of her spring and summer garden oasis filled with flowering plants. If you noticed a for sale sign on my shop, don’t panic, Weaver has informed her Facebook followers. We will still be open next year and have beautiful flowers. Weaver, who has operated the seasonal business just across the street from Innkeeper s Coffee for the past 12 years, is making the move because building owners Paul Everett and Cindy Windsor are selling the property she has rented from them.
