Earlier today, it looked like the two parties were close to an agreement. Senators took a proposal. Minority leader Chuck Schumer followed a 90 minute meeting this afternoon. This resolution would fund the government through february 8. Schumer and mcconnell met for have an hour to discuss emile a deal. Immigration on the daca debate still seem to be at the center of the impasse. The deep divisions between the parties mean hundreds of thousands of federal employees will be furloughed again tomorrow.
